Maharashtra Allocates $1.7 Million for Memorial Honoring Heroic Officer Tukaram Omble

As per the government directive released by the Rural Development Department on March 28, 2025, funding allocation adheres to earlier decisions regarding this issue. The decree reads, “Pursuant to the governmental resolution numbered Smarak-2022/P.No.131/Yojana-11, official sanctioning of INR 13,46,34,201 has been approved for constructing a memorial dedicated to Ashok Chakra laureate martyr." Tukaram Omble , a Mumbai Police sub-inspector, was posthumously honored with the Ashok Chakra, India's premier peace-time medal for courage, following his heroic actions during the event. 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

As detailed on the US Supreme Court’s official site, the petition has been handed over to the Supreme Court justices for consideration during their conference set for April 4, 2025. Rana has resubmitted his request with the aim of obtaining an injunction against his potential extradition to India.
