KCB RFC is looking forward to addressing certain roles within the squad, specifically in the back row, center, and lock positions, during the forthcoming transfer window.

Coach Oliver Mangeni stated that these issues must be tackled immediately following the bank's team finishing without any trophies for the fourth consecutive year.

In the Kenya Cup semi-final, they were defeated with a score of 31-8 by Menengai Oilers, and in the Enterprise Cup, they lost to Kabras with a score of 25-21.

"We have voids in our squad within roles such as the back-row, center, and lock position, and it's essential that we make changes as we approach the transfer window and offseason," noted Mangeni.

The ex-Kenya Simbas lock mentioned their intention to embark on extensive recruiting of high school athletes with the aim of assembling a winning squad over the course of the upcoming two years.

"We're considering recruiting players directly from high schools. We see a great deal of potential there that could strengthen our team," he stated.

Last weekend, the club bade goodbye to three key figures as former captain Davis Chenge, Rocky Aguko, and Elvis Adunga departed from the team. According to Mang'eni, these players have been dedicated servants of the squad over the last ten years.

"They have been invaluable members of our team, and we wish them all the best as they embark on their next adventure," he noted.

The tactician's focus has shifted to the bronze medal match against Nondies on Saturday, emphasizing that it will be all about pride.

It's a crucial game since we aim to end the season on a high note. Nondies are a formidable team, and we will be giving our best to secure the win.

There is a bright side for the bankers as the KCB reserve team competes in the Eric Shirley Shield final against Menengai Oilers on Saturday.

"We are thrilled that our reserve squad will be aiming to retain their championship and ideally, secure some trophies on Saturday," he concluded.

As he looked forward to the remainder of the year, Mang'eni expressed optimism that, with the available players, they had a good chance of competing for the National Seven Series title.

"Given the quality of our players, I think we stand a good chance of winning the Seven Series," stated Mang'eni.
