On a tweet from X, the Rashtrapati Bhavan stated, "President Droupadi Murmu presents Padma Shri In the domains of literature and education, this dedication is directed towards Shri Stephen Knapp. As an American author, researcher, and lecturer, he is committed to advancing knowledge about Indian traditions. His efforts have assisted individuals from various nations in grasping the profound spirituality inherent in India.
Upon accepting the award, the American author and scholar mentioned that he has authored approximately 55 books with the intention of promoting Buddhist teachings. Vedic culture in India.
Knapp stated that receiving the award feels as though Mother India is acknowledging his contributions.

Knapp mentioned that the initial concept was to disseminate Vedic wisdom among other Westerners.
"The initial concept was to connect with other Westerners. However, my writings resonated not only with them but also attracted a significant Indian readership, which later facilitated numerous lecture tours throughout India. Frankly, this allowed me to reach an audience that appreciated the literature I created," he stated.
He mentioned that the Rishis along with the authors of ancient texts were the individuals responsible for making this change in his life.
"Thank you to all the Dharmists and Hindus as well as the Rishis of India who have bestowed upon us this rich cultural heritage. Honestly, it has completely transformed my life. Therefore, I am deeply thankful for this and extend my gratitude," he stated. (ANI)
