Indian-Origin UK Politician: The Only Solution for Kashmir is India Reclaiming POK
New Delhi [India], April 29 (ANI): LORD Meghnad Desai A British politician of Indian descent who serves as a member of the House of Lords has advocated for India to assume control of Pakistan-controlled Kashmir (PoK) in order to address the long-standing Kashmir conflict.
Desai issued the statement following the events of April 22. Pahalgam terror attack , resulting in the deaths of 26 tourists.
During his discussion with ANI, Desai stressed that reclaiming PoK is the sole solution to resolve the issue of Kashmir.
"The sole solution to the Kashmir issue at this point seems to be for India to reclaim Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Since we possess the accession document from the king, it rightfully belongs to us," he stated.
He called for the Indian government to respond strongly to the assault and emphasized making it evident that India would seize control of POK if such events persisted.
"The Pahalgam incident was extremely startling. It ranks among the most disturbing events in the ongoing Kashmir conflict. Indeed, this may well be the climax of tensions surrounding the dispute. I trust that the Indian government will respond with strong measures and emphasize that continued unrest could lead to India reclaiming Pakistan-controlled Kashmir," he stated.
Desai voiced optimism that Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to resolve the Kashmir issue conclusively.
"He expressed his hope that the Prime Minister assured everyone of his intention to finally resolve the issue once and for all," he stated.
In the meantime, the United Kashmir People's National Party (UKPNP) organized an online gathering to strongly condemn the terror strike against tourists and civilians in Pahalgam.
